English Translation: Lead to Symmetry Powder
Formula Type: Release Wind from the Skin and Channels
Actions: Dispels wind, transforms phlegm, & stops spasms.
Indications: Sudden facial paralysis with deviation of the eyes & mouth & facial muscle twitch.
Contraindications: This formula contains toxic substances & shuold therefore not be taken in large doses, long-term, or during pregnancy. Because the formula is composed primarily of acrid, warm ingredients, it is most appropriate for treating wind-phlegm disorders due primarily to damp-cold. It is contraindicated for paralysis due to internal Liver wind or qi deficiency & blood stasis. Bai Fu Zi - Aconite Coreanus is toxic, but when it is prepared, the toxicuty is much reduced. Scorpion - Quan Xie is toxic.

3. Relieves toxicity & dissipates nodules: for snakebite, scrofula, or other nodules due to phlegm & toxicity. Usually used topically for these problems. |

Actions1. Extinguishes wind & stops tremors & convulsions: for Liver wind phlegm patterns with such symptoms as spasms, acute or chronic childhood convulsions, tetany, opisthotonos, tic, tetanus, & seizures. This is one of the more effective wind-extinguishing substances.
2. Attacks & relieves fire toxin & dissipates nodules: used topically for toxic sores, swellings, & scrofula in accordance with the theory, "Use toxin to attack toxin."
3. Unblocks the collaterals & stops pain: for stubborn headaches (including migraines) & painful obstruction. |
