English Translation: Liquid Styrax Pill
Formula Type: Warm and Open the Orifices
Actions: Warms & aromatically opens the sensory orifices, promotes the movement of qi, & transforms turbidity.
Indications: This formula is for three conditions with a similar pathodynamic: 1. Sudden collapse, loss of consciousness, & clenched jaw. 2. Fullness, pain, & a sensation of cold in the chest & abdomen, which may signal the impending sudden loss of consciousness or coma. 3. Abdominal pain & focal distention in the chest, an urge to vomit & defecate without doing either, which, in severe cases, can lead to sudden loss of consciousness or coma. All of the above are accompanied by a pale complexion, purple lips, excessive mucus & salive, cold extremities, a pale tongue with a slippery, greasy coating, & a submerged, slippery pulse.
Contraindications: Contraindicated during pregnanacy or for hot closed disorders. Because the formula is very acrid & aromatic & thus has a very dispersing effect, the doasage should be carefully monitered.

2. Adjusts & regulates stagnant qi in the Intestines: for diarrhea & dysentric disrders, or for abdominal pain & tenesmus. Because of its slightly astringent property, this is a common herb for treatnig tenesmus.
