English Translation: Dioscorea Hypoglauca to Separate the Clear
Formula Type: Warm and Transform Water and Dampness
Actions: Warms the Kidneys, promotes the resolution of dampness, separates out the clear, & transforms the turbid.
Indications: Urinary frequency with cloudy, dense, milky (resembling rice water), or greasy urine. This is cloudy painful urianry dribbling due to cold from deficiency in the lower burner, which causes turbid dampness to pour downward.
Contraindications: Should not be used in treating cloudy painful urinary dribbling characterized by milky, turbid urine due to an accumulation of damp-heat in the Bladder.

Actions1. Separates the pure from the turbid: for resolving turbid dampness in the lower burner manifesting in cloudy urine (like rice porridge) or vaginal discharge. Can be used for problems due to either deficiency or damp-heat.
2. Expels wind-damoness, relaxes the sinews, & unblocks the connecting channels: for wind-dampness or damp-heat painful obstruction with lower back pain, numbness or stiffness of the lower extremities, or muscle aches. The effect is mild.
3. Clears damp-heat from the skin: for damp-heat skin lesions such as eczema & pustular sores. |
