Chinese Prescription: Wei Jing Tang
English Translation: Reed Decoction
Formula Type: Warm the Menses and Dispel Blood Stasis
Actions: Clears heat from the Lungs, transforms phlegm, drives out blood stasis, & discharges pus.
Indications: Cough with foul-smelling sputum (which may be streaked with blood), slight fever, mild chest pain, dry, scaly skin, a red tongue with a greasy, yellow coating, & a slippery, rapid pulse.
Contraindications: Because of the descending actions of Tao Ren & Yi Yi Ren, this formula is contraindicated during pregnancy.

4. Expels wind-dampness: for wind-dampness painful obstruction. Especially effective for increasing joint mobility & reducing spasms in chronic cases.
5. Clears damp-heat: for any damp-heat disorder at any level characterized by a greasy tongue coating & digestive problems.
6. Also used in the treatment of plantar warts. |
