Actions: Clears heat, resolves toxicity, cools the blood, & reduces swelling.
Indications: All types of boils & carbuncles with localized erythema, swelling, heat, & pain accompanied by fever, chills, a red tongue with a yellow coating, & a rapid pulse. Especially useful for deep-rooted & hard lesions, which are said to resemble nails or chestnuts.
Contraindications: Contraindicated for yin-type boils. Use with caution in cases with Spleen deficiency.
