Actions

1. Warms the womb & stops bleeding: for prolonged menstrual bleeding & uterine bleeding due to cold from deficiency.

2. Warms the womb & pacifies the fetus: for restless fetus, lower abdominal pain, & vaginal bleeding as in threatened miscarriage. Also used for infertility due to a cold womb.

3. Disperses cold & alleviates pain: for cold abdominal pain, especially menstrual pain.

Cautions

Use with caution in cases of heat in the blood or yin deficiency.
