Actions

1. Clears heat & promotes urination: for abdominal swelling & fullness due to edema, urinary difficulty, & leg qi edema. The nature of this herb is to move downward & relieve edema by causing the water or dampness to be drained from the body.

2. Disperses blood stasis, reduces swelling, & reduces fire toxicity: for sores, carbuncles, & furuncles.

3. Clears damp-heat: for mild cases of jaundice due to damp-heat.
