Dosage

6-15g fresh, calcined or roasted, 1-3g pwdr

Actions

1. Clears heat, redirects Lung qi downward, & transforms phlegm: for Lung-heat cough with thick sputum that is difficult to expectorate, accompanied by chest & rib pain.

2. Softens hardness & dissipates nodules: for such disorders as phlegm-fire goiter & scrofula.

3. promotes urination & expels dampness: for turbid painful urinary dysfunction & vaginal discharge.

4. In its calcined powdered form, for epigstric pain & acid regurgitation.

Cautions

Contraindicated in cases of qi deficiency & cold.
