Actions

1. Relieves fire toxicity & cools the blood: for damp-heat or fire toxin dysenteric disorders. Also for hot or bloody painful urinary dysfunction.

2. Clears damp-heat & treats sores: primarily for fire toxin carbuncles or sores, as well as red & white vaginal discharge. For these purposes it is applied topically & taken internally.

3. Also used as an antidote to the pain & swelling of wasp stings & snakebite.

4. Recently used for post partum bleeding.

Cautions

Contraindicated in cases of Spleen & Stomach cold from deficiency, & during pregnancy.
