Actions

1. Cools the blood & stops bleeding: for vomiting blood, nosebleed, coughing of blood, blood in the stool, uterine bleeding, or any bleeding due to reckless movement of hot blood.

2. Invigorates the blood & dispels blood stasis: for the pain associated wiht blood stasis, especially chest & flank pain. Also used for lochioschesis, pain from trauma, joint pain, or the early stages of carbuncles.

Contraindicated in cases of Spleen or Stomach cold from deficiency.
