Actions

1. Sedates the Heart & settles tremors & palpitations: for disorientation, insomnia, palpitations with anxiety, or convulsions due to either Heart blood deficiency or ascendant Liver Yang.

2. Warms the Lungs & directs the qi downward: for cough or wheezing due to cold from deficiency of the Lungs. Used for wheezing with coious sputum.

3. Warms the womb: for excessive menstruation, uterine bleeding, or infertility due to cold from deficiency of the womb.

Cautions

Not to be used in cases of fire from yin deficiency. May counteract with fu zi.
